Producer for ‘BOX’
Fabrice Armand served as one of the producers of the Off Broadway stage play ‘BOX’ written by Fred Shahadi and directed by Marishka Phillips. Casting by Tiandra Gayle. Emelyn Stuart of Stuart Films and Michael Peoples of Michaela Productions also produced ‘BOX.’
‘BOX’ is a fictional 1980s story about four Haitian refugees who stowed aboard an industrial ocean liner seeking freedom by sealing themselves inside a large coffee container. The ghost of Henry ‘BOX’ Brown, an historical figure of a former slave who literally mailed himself to freedom in 1848, visits them. This play explores one’s desire for freedom and the determination to achieve it.
‘Box’ ran from September to October 2011 at The Midtown Theatre on West 46th Street. The production starred Kevin “dotcom” Brown of NBC’s “30 Rock”; Ayinde “I Eat Grass” Howell, Rashad Edwards, Lawrence Saint-Victor formerly of CBS’ “Guiding Light”, and Brandon Alexander.
